Circulator Declarations

Petitions for county commissioner candidates and the Colorado Springs city petition lack a serial number. Look at the title of the Sigtrack window. If the petition is for a county commissioner or is a Colorado Springs city petition, enter 1 as the serial number. All other petitions require a serial number, so if you don't see one, flag it (after resizing the Scan window to see the complete form).

City and county petitions do not have a place for county. For the Colorado Springs petition, enter "e" for El Paso County. For the Denver city petition, enter "d".

The Colorado Springs petition does not ask for the circulator signing date, only the notary signing date. Enter the notary date as both the circulator signing date and the notary date.

Enter the first letter of the notary county.

Enter the circulator’s initials where it says by, ignoring any middle name and only entering the first of two hyphenated last names. If the ciculator is John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt, enter jj.

Confirm by ticking the checkboxes if the notary signed and stamped their notary info in the box.

Enter all initials for the stamped notary name. If the notary is John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt, enter jjjs.

Enter the day of the expiry, not the month or year. If the expiry is 12/25/2030, enter 25. The expiry does not have to be printed. You can use the day in the notary stamp.

Tracking Info

Enter the section number and skip any leading zeroes. Remember, for county commissioners the serial number is always 1. For the Colorado Springs Marijuana petition, the campaign forgot to print serial numbers on the petition and is having to handwrite them. If missing, leave blank.

Signatures

City is not required. There is no -c.

Middle names cannot substitute for first names. The voter must match by first and last.

Colorado requires the first name to be spelled out. Therefore, both single and double initials are not allowed. This also means abbreviations like Wm. are not acceptable. Obvious nicknames are okay, as is normal. If the first name is not spelled out, it is -n0.

Write-overs are permissible.

County is not required.

1234 Rd 12 = 1234 County Rd 12.

A house number of 145 can equal 14 1/2. The data conversion eliminates dots, so the db could have originally been 14.5.
