There are two different petition formats in Arizona, one for candidate nominations and another for ballot initiatives.
For candidate nominations (the AV24 job), there is a little repetition here. The shorthand is the
Check the box if the voter signed.
For ballot initiatives (the Kolehouse job), the shorthand is the
Check the box if signed by the circulator.
Enter the notary signing date.
Check the boxes if signed by the notary and stamped by the notary.
Enter the Registered Circulator ID at the very bottom without AZ
, just the numerals.
See Voter Registrations for general instructions on voter registrations. There is a big difference in Arizona. You cannot search by birth date. You have to search in house number mode. This is still necessary to avoid entering voters who are already registered and to update political party if that has changed.
Printed name is not required if legal signature is clearly legible.
P.O. boxes are acceptable and not -a0. These signatures can be a soft match if the name is unique.
City is not required. There is no -c.
University addresses can be written as the name of the hall. The address written must include some type of number whether an address number or a mailbox number.
Native American reservation addresses are often written like 0.25M W Burnside Rd. Those are not possible to search by house number and require a custom search. Count them hard matches and not deficient as long as the street name matches.
